Sam Talbot, chef, restaurateur, author, and TV personality, is a host of AOL’s “GMC Trade Secrets.” A semi-finalist on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” he was voted Fan Favorite in season two. Since then, Sam has penned the Rodale-published book The Sweet Life: Diabetes Without Boundaries. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 12, he lives every hour with a profound understanding of the impact of food on life and life on food.
David Anson Russo, self-taught artist who is recognized as one of the world’s premier interactive artists and will be creating a full-size, original painting that evening. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they watch this piece come to life throughout the night and will then have an opportunity to bid on the painting during the live auction. David is connected to JDRF through a close friend whose son has type 1 diabetes (T1D). He designs their Walk Team’s t-shirts for the Boston Walk each year and his unique style and artistry will be featured prominently throughout the Gala this year. He has been featured in numerous newspapers and art/design publications in the United States and abroad. David has also been featured on television shows and at museums creating mazes in front of live audiences. His latest work, “What a Great Life,” focuses on artwork with a mission to touch, move and inspire the human spirit and can be viewed at http://whatagreatlife.net.
